If you’re feeling on edge, stuck in your thoughts, or constantly fighting that uneasy feeling in your chest, you’ve come to the right place.

I specialise in supporting people through anxiety, providing you a calm, non-judgemental space to help you breathe again.

My Story

Hi, I’m Alex, a BACP Accredited Counsellor with a particular interest in anxiety and how it shows up in our lives. I take an integrative approach to therapy, which means I adapt my style to fit you—not the other way around. I believe therapy should feel like a real conversation between two people, where you feel accepted exactly as you are.

Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in the public and third sectors, supporting local communities through advocacy and outreach roles. That passion for helping others was rooted in my own early experiences. I was a young carer, and after losing my mum to Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, I had to learn compassion, empathy, and nurture at a young age. I spent years advocating for people affected by mental health issues, discrimination, and marginalisation, and through that work I saw first-hand how anxiety and depression can affect every part of a person’s life—work, relationships, confidence, and sense of self.

My work with organisations like Mind, Shelter UK, Citizens Advice, and local counselling services gave me a deeper understanding of mental health and, ultimately, led me to retrain as a therapist. I came to see that anxiety is often a signal rather than the root issue—it can point to deeper things like trauma, stress, or unmet emotional needs. Therapy offers a space to explore those underlying causes, and my goal is to help people understand what’s really going on beneath the surface so they can move towards greater self-awareness and a more authentic life.

Throughout my training, I experienced the transformative power of therapy for myself. It gave me a voice and helped me start advocating for me. That process was life-changing, and I’ve never looked back. If you’re considering therapy, I truly encourage you to give it a try—you might be surprised at the difference it can make.

How I Can Help

Why choose me as your counsellor?

Living with anxiety can feel like being in a constant state of alert—racing thoughts, tension in your body, or that ongoing sense that something just isn’t right. If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. I offer a calm, supportive space where we can make sense of what you’re going through and help you reconnect with what really matters to you.

What will therapy with me be like?

Our work together isn’t just about managing symptoms—it’s about understanding your story, your strengths, and what’s been getting in the way of feeling more at ease. I tailor each session to suit you, drawing from different approaches to support your unique needs. That might mean talking things through, using imagery or metaphor, or finding creative ways to express yourself when words are hard to find. Clients say therapy helps them to feel more grounded, more self-aware, and more able to handle life’s challenges after our sessions.

Ready to Make a Change?

I’m passionate about creating a space that feels safe and open—where you don’t need to filter or perform. I see the therapeutic relationship as a place where you can explore things at your own pace, gently and with curiosity. If you’re ready to start that journey, I’d love to hear from you.

Book your first session today and take that empowering step toward feeling more grounded, confident, and connected to your authentic self.  I can’t wait to hear from you! Connect with me today!

Warm wishes,

Alex
