A bit about me
Support for anxiety, low self-worth and emotional overwhelm
You may be feeling exhausted by your own mind. Constant overthinking, anxiety, low mood, emotional overwhelm, or harsh self-criticism can leave you feeling low, or stuck, disconnected from yourself, and unsure how to move forwards.
I know that some days, even basic things can feel difficult – replying to messages, getting started with tasks, keeping up with work, looking after yourself, or finding the motivation or energy to do things you know would probably help. You may spend a lot of time feeling stuck between wanting things to change and feeling unable to move forwards, which can leave you frustrated, ashamed, and judging yourself even more.
I offer individual therapy for young adults aged 18+ who want support to better understand themselves, feel less overwhelmed, and develop a more compassionate and hopeful relationship with themselves.
When people come to therapy with me
People often come to therapy with me when:
-
They are struggling with anxiety, depression, burnout, or emotional overwhelm
-
They feel constantly stuck in negative thoughts about themselves
-
They struggle with motivation, procrastination, or shutting down when things feel too much
-
They feel emotionally exhausted from masking or trying to cope alone
-
They have spent years feeling misunderstood, different, or not good enough
-
High expectations, people-pleasing, or perfectionism are affecting their wellbeing
-
They are questioning whether they may be autistic or neurodivergent
-
They are finding it difficult to cope with life
You do not need to fully understand why you feel the way you do before starting therapy. Sometimes therapy is the space where those deeper patterns begin to make sense.
How I work
Therapy with me is not about judging you or trying to fix who you are. Together, we explore the experiences, beliefs, pressures, and coping strategies that may be contributing to how you feel now.
My approach is both reflective and practical. I will support you to:

-
Understand yourself more compassionately
-
Recognise and challenge painful self-beliefs
-
Make sense of emotional overwhelm and burnout
-
Feel less stuck in cycles of anxiety, shame, or self-criticism
-
Develop ways of coping that feel realistic and supportive
-
Build greater trust in yourself and your own needs
My aim is to offer a space that feels calm, supportive, collaborative, and human.
Neurodivergent-affirming inclusive therapy
I have both personal and professional experience of autism, and I work with many neurodivergent clients, including young autistic adults and people exploring whether they may be neurodivergent.
Many neurodivergent people spend years masking, overanalysing social situations, feeling misunderstood, or trying to fit themselves into environments that never fully worked for them. Over time, this can lead to anxiety, burnout, low self-esteem, and deep self-doubt.

I offer a space in therapy that feels understanding, affirming, and accepting of different ways of thinking, feeling, communicating, and experiencing the world.

What our clients say about us
L, Client
Anne helped me through a really tough and turbulent time in my life. Working with her gave me the confidence and stability I’d been missing, and for the first time, I started to see how parts of my past were holding me back.
C, Client
I was feeling lost and overwhelmed, but Alex helped me navigate my emotions with kindness and patience. Her support has given me hope, and I now have the tools to manage my mental health in a way I never thought possible.
D, Client
At a very difficult time in my life I was advised to speak to Anne. She listened but didn’t judge. Instead she helped me to recognise and rationalise my feelings. I felt she had empathy and a clear understanding of me as a person. My time with her enabled me to move forward with a greater understanding of myself and my challenges. It gave me the emotional strength to address them with confidence.
