How I can help

Support for couples who want to feel more understood, connected and able to move forward

If your relationship has been feeling difficult lately, you might be noticing that conversations are frustrating and not going anywhere, or that you are getting stuck in the same unhelpful patterns again and again.

You may still care deeply about one another, but feel unheard, frustrated or disconnected. Over time, this can start to feel exhausting and hard to shift on your own.

I offer couples therapy for partners who want to understand one another better, improve communication, and find a way forward that feels more connected and manageable.

When couples come to therapy with me

Couples often come to see me when:

  • Communication feels strained, repetitive or goes round in circles

  • One or both of you feels unheard, misunderstood or criticised

  • There is a sense of disconnection or distance in the relationship

  • Conflict feels difficult to resolve or escalates quickly

  • Neurodivergence is part of your relationship dynamic

  • You are exploring relationship structures such as ENM, kink

  • Trust has been impacted, including through infidelity

You do not need to be at crisis point to come to therapy. Many couples come because they want to strengthen their relationship and feel more connected to one another, and that starts with kindness to yourselves and each other.

How I work with couples

My approach is rooted in person-centred therapy and I work relationally, which means that the relationship we build together becomes an important part of the work.

Therapy with me is collaborative. We move at your pace, focusing on what feels most important to you both, while gently exploring the areas that may feel more difficult.

In our sessions, I aim to:

  • Create a space where you both feel safe, comfortable and able to be yourselves

  • Help you explore and unpick the patterns that feel stuck or overwhelming, or have left you feeling resentful

  • Support clearer, more open communication between you

  • Offer a space where difficult feelings, including feelings of shame, can be brought without fear of judgement

  • Build understanding of what is happening between you and why

  • Work alongside you, rather than taking sides or placing blame

I place a strong emphasis on helping both partners feel heard. That sense of being understood can be a powerful starting point for rebuilding connection.

Neurodivergent-affirming and LGBTQ+ inclusive couples therapy

I have a strong focus on working with neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ couples, and I bring an affirming, informed approach to this work.

I am a neurodivergent and queer therapist, and I work mainly (though not exclusively) within the LGBTQ+ community. This can bring an added level of understanding to the work, particularly where identity, communication differences and lived experience are shaping your relationship.

I offer a space that is inclusive of gender, sexual and relationship diversity (GSRD), where both partners’ identities and experiences are respected and understood, and where you can explore your relationship without judgement.

Alongside my couples work, I am comfortable supporting couples to explore issues around intimacy, sex and sexual communication where these are part of wider relationship challenges. I recognise that conversations about sex can feel difficult to have, and I aim to create a safe, non-judgemental space where both partners can feel heard and understood.
